MARKETING THE WORLD'S FIRST SPORTS CITY

Bell Pottinger Communications and TTA Group, part of Chime Communications PLC, have been appointed to manage a marketing and communications strategy for Dubai Sports City.

Dubai Sports City is a 50 million sq ft mixed-use metropolis, and will be the world's first integrated purpose-built sports city.

Along with luxury residential and commercial properties, it will host a Manchester United Soccer School, an Ernie Els Signature Golf Course, a David Lloyd Tennis Academy, a Butch Harmon School of Golf and a dedicated global international cricket academy.

The scheme will be complete with a 25,000 capacity stadium for cricket, a 10,000 capacity multi-purpose indoor stadium for all hard court games, ice hockey and concerts, a 10,000 capacity dedicated field hockey stadium and a 25,000 capacity multipurpose outdoor stadium for football, rugby and track-and-field events.

The metropolis will also have a country club equipped with a state of the art spa and health club, hotels, restaurants/cafes, retail outlets and shopping mall, cinemas and a medical centre.

TTA Group will be responsible for marketing the residential and commercial properties to an international audience. Bell Pottinger Sports Division will be responsible for promoting the vast range of sporting facilities and the Bell Pottinger Middle East Office in Dubai will be responsible for directing and implementing the communications strategy on-the-ground, as well as being the day today contact point for the client.

Mike Humphreys, chairman, Bell Pottinger Sports Division, said: "This is the most exciting multi-sports facility the world has ever seen. It is a privilege to have been selected to invite the whole world of sport, major and minor, to participate in Dubai Sports City."
