Lions hospitality boom

Tagged in , &

Early predictions for next year's British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand are already living up to its billing of being second only to the Rugby World Cup in terms of corporate hospitality.

Rugby eNews reports that two New Zealand based firms, Capital Events and Corporate Host, have joined forces to cater for what some are predicting will be in excess of 40,000 clients in the country for the 2005 tour.

The Lions hospitality partnership will look after more than 10,000 clients at each of the three tests, as well as all arrangements for tour matches.

Corporate Host managing director Ian Fraser says all previous records for tests in New Zealand will be smashed, with Auckland's old total on track to double from 6,000 to 12,000, while Christchurch will increase threefold on previous years.
