He will oversee the test programme for the series’ new car that begins at the end of this month.
He will also represent A1 Grand Prix at all technical meetings with its suppliers.
Said A1 Grand Prix general manager, Stephen Watson: “It was essential to have an experienced co-ordinator once the test programme got underway and John comes with all the right credentials. He has been involved in the sport for over 30 years in every formula up to and including Formula 1. His technical and operational knowledge will be invaluable.”
