It says the recent meeting surpassed the world record attendance for an international athletics meeting with 63,851 spectators coming through the turnstiles of the Stade de France.

Said an official: “One year after the success of the 2003 IAAF World Championship, the amazing success of this meeting confirms that track and field athletics has definitely secured a strong audience among the French public.”
