United MD quits

English soccer club Leeds United has suffered another boardroom casualty after David Richmond quit as managing director.

The club, relegated from the Premier League last season following a season dogged by financial hardship, recently confirmed it was looking for a sale and lease back of its Elland Road ground.
Richmond quit for ‘personal reasons’.
Said club chairman Gerald Krasner: “He's done a wonderful job but his decision has come as a surprise."
