Euro2004.com notched up 500m page views since going live on March 31 – compared to the 128.8 for Euro2000.org.
It is the first time UEFA has handled the website operation in-house, through its UEFA New Media division. The Euro 2000 event was handled by Sportal.
The latest figures also reveal the international appeal of the tournament, with more than 50 percent of the traffic coming from outside of Europe. Asia accounted for 27 percent and North America 20 percent. European traffic accounted by 45 percent.
The audience peaked during the England v Portugal quarter-final when 16.7m page views were recorded.
In total, 75 percent of visitors accessed euro2004.com using a broadband connection.
