Sloman gets London call

London 2012 Olympic bid officials have turned to the former COO of the Sydney Games to help them in their race to land the event.

Jim Sloman’s MI Associates, has been drafted in by bid leader Sebastian Coe in a bid to overcome some of the criticisms of the London bid made by the IOC.
MI Associates will now assist in preparing the crucial bid file which must be submitted to IOC chiefs in November.
It will appoint a project team to handle the plans, as Lord Coe revamps the team and bid details.
Crucially, the consultants must overcome concerns made by the IOC over transport and the number of events being staged outside of Greater London.
Said Coe: “I believe we must improve on our proposals and we must aim to produce the best technical bid when we submit our candidate file to the IOC in November."
