United has agreed to cut its links with the Elite Sports Group – a agency which has been used frequently by the club – to ensure there can be no claims of a conflict of interest.
Elite is co-run by Jason Ferguson – son of United manager Alex.
The move has been made after pressure was applied by John Magnier and JP McManus, the Irish racehorse owners and shareholders in the club.
They had a bitter dispute with Alex Ferguson over a racehorse, during which they called for the club to probe transfer dealings.
Said a club statement: “There are no untoward issues between Elite, which acts for 13 players, and the club."
However, in a bid for greater transparency, the club, a listed company, has decided to review its transfer process and make public all agents fees when transfer are revealed to the stock market.
The club says it has paid £13m to agents over the past three years.
