Plans for Expos bid

Plans to bring the Montreal Expos Major League Baseball team to Northern Virginia have taken a step forward after plans were unveiled for a new ballpark.

The preferred site from the Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority would see a state-of-the-art stadium build near Dulles International Airport, incorporating restaurants, hotels, and offices.
Baseball chiefs have suggested a final decision on the Expos’ future will be made this summer, and Northern Virginia is just one of a number of venues hoping to land the team.
The Expos have been owned by the League since 2002 and currently play at both Montreal and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
