ICC in Dubai HQ talks

Cricket’s world governing body the ICC is in negotiations to move its headquarters away from Lord’s in London and into the Middle East.

According to reports, ICC president Ehsan Mani and chief executive Malcolm Speed travelled to Dubai this week for talks with government chiefs.

The ICC has long been considering a move away from Lord’s and in March confirmed it had highlighted a number of possible new sites for its HQ.

Mani said the ICC had received offers from Malaysia, Jersey, Singapore, Switzerland, Monaco, Ireland and Australia.

Talks with the Dubai officials were described as ‘positive’.

A move is not likely to be complete for 18 months and is part of the ICC strategy to bring its headquarters and Monaco office under one roof.
