The WUSA closed last year due to a lack of commercial support. It has arranged two summer festivals in the US this summer designed to draw attention to the league and pave the way for a return next year.
Tony DiCicco, chairman of the league’s reorganisation committee, said the crunch talks with team chiefs and potential backers, will take place before the summer festivals kick-off. The first is due to take place in Minneapolis in the third week of June.
