The event, which has been off the calendar for four-years, will resume in July.
Teams taking part include Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, India, and the UAE.
Jagmohan Dalmiya, chairman of the organising committee and chief of the Indian cricket board, said: “We are confident the tournament can be played every two years but the only problem is the current ICC 10-year plan, which leaves us with such a heavy schedule.
"This must be revised and we will be taking up the matter during the ICC executive board meeting in June."
The Asian Cricket Council has confirmed Sri Lanka will host the return of the limited-overs Asia Cup.
