During the series of meetings in Kuala Lumpur, the AFC also bought itself into line with FIFA’s new presidential election calendar.
It extended the current Executive Committee’s term of office by one year, currently it runs 2002-2006, and also that the 22nd AFC Congress, during which its elections were due to be staged, will be held in 2007, with ordinary Congress being staged every two years from 2007.
FIFA confirmed last year it was shifting its presidential elections so as not to clash with a World Cup.
