Jesus Gil, the former president of Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid is seriously ill in hospital after suffering a stroke.
The 71-year-old fell ill at the weekend and is currently under going treatment at a hospital in Madrid.
Gil resigned as president last May, although remains the major shareholder in the club.
