Athens vows Games will be safe

Organisers of the Athens Olympic Games have moved to allay fears over security following yesterday’s bomb attack on the Greek capital.

The 100-day countdown to the Games was completely overshadowed by the three devices which exploded in the city in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

No-one was injured, and an extreme Left-wing group is suspected as being responsible. Police officials insist there was no connection with the Games, yet the aftermath of the explosions saw a media frenzy – and another headache for ATHOC and the Greek government.
