The man who formulated FIFA’s first major global marketing campaign has warned soccer’s governing body it may be biting off more than it can chew by taking its rights in-house, sportbusiness.com can reveal.

Patrick Nally, the man behind the West Nally Group which revolutionised the way federations sold their rights by devising the first packages for events such as the FIFA World Cup and Rugby World Cup says recent moves by both the IOC and FIFA to set up in-house marketing departments could back fire – and undermine the entire way agencies operate in sport.
