BMW's F1 threat

German motor manufacturer BMW says it could pull out of Formula One and switch to another motorsport if rule changes to the world championship dilute the brand fit.

The company, involved with the BMW Williams team since 2000, says it will weigh up its options in 2007 after a new set of rule changes are proposed to be introduced to the sport which would dramatically reduce the costs involved in running a team – and make the race more competitive.
