Glazer, long linked with a possible takeover of the club, confirmed he had increased his stake from 16.69 to 18.25 in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.
The biggest shareholders in the club remain Irish race horse tycoons John Magnier and JP McManus. Their Cubic Expression investment company owns 28.9 percent of the club.
