In a deal signed with both MLB Properties and the league’s new media arm – MLB Advanced Media – the firm has agreed multi-year sponsorship agreements.
The new contract will make Ameriquest the official mortgage company of Major League
Baseball, title sponsor of the All-Star Game in-stadium balloting programme, and the online All-Star balloting program via the league’s official website, MLB.com.
This marks the first time since 2000 that in-stadium and online All-Star Game balloting have been presented by the same Major League Baseball corporate partner.
Along with the All-Star balloting activities, Ameriquest will support its sponsorship by making a ‘significant commitment’ to MLB national broadcast partners over the course of the season. The Ameriquest relationship with Major League Baseball will further be enhanced by sponsorships with several clubs during the 2004 season.
The Major League Baseball All-Star balloting programme is the largest balloting programme in professional sports. Fans vote for the eight position players in each league who will start the All-Star Game.
Meanwhile, BT Broadcast Services (BTBS) has continued with a flurry of activity in the US sports scene, by signing a four-year deal with MLBAM to acquire and encode live audio and video of all Major League Baseball games, including regular and post-season play online, at MLB.com.
Said Joe Choti, senior vice president and chief technology officer of MLBAM: “BTBS' extensive service allows us to distribute more games, highlights and commentary to our online audience than ever before.
“Because of BTBS' global infrastructure, we are able to bring in content from around the world as well as regular and post-season play and webcast it online live and on demand."
