Giants go Wi-Fi

Major League Baseball’s San Francisco Giants are to set up a wireless internet service for SBC Park.

More than 120 wireless access points have been set up around the venue, allowing fans to bring wireless-enabled devices to the venue and log-on to broadband internet access.

The size of the operation will make SBC Park one of the largest public Wi-Fi hotspots in the world.
Fans will be able to use the service for free in 2004 with a charge expected to be introduced for the following season.
