F1 ticket sales soar

As the Formula One season got underway at the weekend, organisers of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone say ticket sales are already 50 percent up on last year.

It is expected race day numbers will surpass last year’s 70,000 crowd – primarily courtesy of a change in ticket prices.

At the close of Silverstone's early booking offer on March 1, 65,800 people had booked their places for the race on July 11 this year.
Said Andrew Waller, managing director of Silverstone Motorsport Limited: “This is very encouraging news for the British Grand Prix and Formula One.
"Fans have endorsed our revised pricing structure and the ongoing improvements being made to the facilities and infrastructure of Silverstone."
