Ferguson and Magnier 'in peace deal'

The row between Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of English soccer giants Manchester United, and the club’s biggest shareholder appears to be finally over.

Ferguson had locked horns with John Magnier over the stud rights to racehorse Rock of Gibraltar – a hugely successful horse they co-owned.

The row had grown increasingly bitter and spilled over into the United boardroom. Magnier and business partner JP McManus own a 28.9 percent stake in the club through their Cubic Expression company.
