Bud extends WilliamsF1 deal

Budweiser is to increase its sponsorship of the BMW WilliamsF1 team for the new season.

After a successful first season with the team, the ‘Bud King of Beers’ logo will appear on the airbox and nose cone of the new FW26 team cars and the team gloves of drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher.

Budweiser became an official sponsor of the BMW WilliamsF1 team in July 2003, beginning with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The original multi-year deal was worth an estimated EUR43m.

Said Tony Ponturo, vice president, global media and sports marketing, Anheuser-Busch: “Our first season with Formula One racing has been a great experience, and the BMW WilliamsF1 team continues to be a valuable partner for Budweiser.

“Budweiser’s increased visibility on the cars and driver’s gloves will reach even more adult beer drinkers this season through Formula One’s worldwide viewing audience of more than 350 million.”
