The extension to the current two-year deal will see Crestor become an official partner of the PGA Tour and Champions Tour.
The deal also includes the staging of the Crestor Charity Challenge – a season-long weekly competition that recognises the tournament leader entering the final round at select PGA Tour events throughout the year. It begins this week at the Ford Championship at Doral in Miami. It will see the brand donate more than $3m to charity.
Said PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem: "We have enjoyed a solid relationship with AstraZeneca for the past two years, and are excited to expand our partnership to focus on Crestor."
The PGA Tour has extended its sponsorship deal with health care firm AstraZeneca and its new cholesterol-lowering brand, Crestor.
