Police and investigators have searched the offices of numerous Serie A and Serie B teams over the last week in a probe into player salaries, transfer fees and tax payments.
Said Gianfranco Fini to RAI: "It's a positive thing to verify the cleanliness of Italian football.
“Italian football has been sick for some time, but those clubs whose balance sheets are correct need not worry if the financial police ask to see their accounts."
The deputy Prime Minister of Italy has said innocent soccer clubs have nothing to fear as police investigate claims of accounting irregularities.
