NASN nets NBA shows

European digital sports channel the North American Sports Network (NASN) has strengthened its offering after securing a new deal with the NBA.

NASN has signed a deal to screen NBA Fastbreak, a weekly highlights show, for the rest of the 2003/04 season.
From March, a new series of classic basketball games will be shown – NBA Hardwood Classics – and in June the entire NBA draft will be broadcast live and exclusive.
Said NASN chief executive Amory Schwartz: “It was our goal from launch to carry the best programming from five of the most popular North American pro-sports leagues, both live and recorded.”

NASN now broadcasts more live US sport than any other digital television channel in Europe with over 250 MLB baseball games per year; 175 NHL matches; college football games; regular live NFL magazine programming plus NFL Films archive shows; and live NASCAR racing with the Nextel Cup series.
