Scolari, now manager of Portugal – the host nation for this summer’s Euro 2004 event – said he had visited the country and its facilities and been impressed.
Said Scolari: “Morocco’s bid is well organised and hard working. I am sure they will do a great job if they won the right to host the tournament.”
Morocco, however, has to beat off the challenge of hot favourite South Africa to win the event. It is also battling to overcome rival bids from Tunisia, Libya and Egypt.
