It reported a pre-tax profit of £51,725. This compares with a profit of £20,927 in 2002 and a loss of £22,083 in 2001.
Said club chairman Carl Openshaw: “It is encouraging to be able to report an increased profit for the year and a continuation of the improving trend in recent years.
“The major factors which contributed to this increase were the excellent weather which brought out more Kent supporters and resulted in record match receipts; the introduction of the Twenty20 competition; a further increase in commercial revenue; and the highly successful launch of the county’s new ground at Beckenham.
“Although we enjoyed a successful year both on and off the field, we are aware that finances in cricket remain precarious and we continue to be grateful for the excellent support we receive from our sponsors, members and commercial partners.”
The club’s AGM takes place at its Canterbury ground next month.
