Soccer’s world governing body notches up 100 years on May 21 and will be marketing the occasion with a string of special events around the world.
Among the events planned is reception to be hosted by the Swiss Federal Council for the management of both FIFA and UEFA, the European governing body which marks its 50th anniversary this year.
Zurich City Council will also stage a special ceremony and the city will play host to a series of activities including the unveiling of a special FIFA tram which will travel across the city until May 2005.
The events will conclude with the Centennial FIFA World Player Gala at Zurich’s opera house on December 20.
FIFA has unveiled its line-up of events in which it plans to mark its centenary this year.
