Eurosport tees up TV deal

Pan- European broadcaster Eurosport has unveiled a multi-year broadcast agreement with the PGA European Tour.

The new deal will see Eurosport broadcast a weekly 30-minute highlights show, produced by European Tour Productions. Eurosport cover a total of 35 European Tour events per season.
Said Vincent Chupin, Eurosport director of rights acquisitions: “We are delighted to offer golf fans the chance to follow in prime time the best European players in action. As Europe's leading sports channel, we are looking forward to continuing to develop a successful and long term partnership with the governing body of tournament golf in Europe.”
Added George O’Grady, deputy executive director of the PGA European Tour: “We are delighted with this new highlights agreement which will further expand the audience of European Tour golf within Europe. Eurosport has an historical association with the European Tour dating back to the early 1990's and we are pleased to be resuming this partnership.”
The new deal lasts until 2006.
