BBC and ITV set Euro schedule

UK broadcasters the BBC and ITV have reached an agreement on how to divide up the coverage of this year's European Championships.

In the first round of games, ITV will show two of England's matches (Switzerland and France) whereas the BBC will get just one (Croatia).
In return for taking a lesser hand in the group stages, the BBC will get the first two picks of the quarter final games, with ITV taking the remaining two.
The semi-finals and final will be covered on both networks.
ITV's head of sport, Brian Barwick, said: "We are delighted ITV viewers will be able to see England's first two matches of the Euro 2004 campaign and in particular the eagerly awaited opening clash against the holders France."
Added Niall Sloane, BBC head of football: "We are absolutely delighted to be able to invest our faith in England qualifying from the group stage. We look forward to following England through the tournament."
