GEM's Spence goes it alone

Johnno Spence has left agency The GEM Group to launch his own sports media relations and sponsorship consultancy.

Spence's new consultancy based in London, Johnno Spence Consulting Ltd, will be concentrating initially on his extensive involvement in horseracing.
Spence was head of racing at The GEM Group, the sports and entertainment consultancy, and they will become the new company's first client as a consultant on GEM's BHB account.
Prior to working on the horse racing side of the business Spence worked on the Vodafone cricket and Famous Grouse Scotland rugby team sponsorships as well as carrying out the PR for Sporting Index.
Commented 28-year old Spence: "After five years at GEM, I wanted to broaden my horizons. I am very pleased that I will continue to work closely with GEM on the BHB and Vodafone Derby, and look forward to establishing some new clients as well."
As well as the BHB, Spence will continue to work with JCB and Epsom Downs racecourse.
