The improved rewards marks the seventh-straight year in which the tournament has increased its purse and puts the event among the top five richest LPGA tournaments.
The 2004 champion will receive a $240,000, an increase of $37,500 over 2003. The tournament's $1.6m purse is $1m more than the inaugural event's purse in 1992.
Se Ri Pak will return to defend her title this year at Eagle's Landing Country Club, April 29-May 2.
In all, nine LPGA tournaments have increased their purses from 2003 to 2004. Of the 33 events on the LPGA's 2004 schedule, 27 feature prize money of at least $1m, led by the US Women's Open at $3.1m.
The Chick-fil-A Charity Championship in Atlanta has become the latest LPGA Tour tournament to increase its prize money for 2004, jumping $250,000 to $1.6million.
