Pepsi, who previously had a £5m, five-year, deal with the Real Madrid and England star, will utilise the man recognised as the most marketable in the sport as part of a ‘dream team’ of endorsement talent.
Pepsi has not revealed the size of the new deal, but it is expected to dwarf his current contract.
Beckham will join new Pepsi signings Francesco Totti and Ronaldinho to spearhead its ‘Dare for More’ campaign, which will feature across all platforms heavily in the run-up to Euro 2004.
Pepsi already has deals in place with Brazil’s Roberto Carlos and Spain’s Raul Gonzalez, in addition to emerging talent in the form of Holland’s Rafael Van der Vaart, Portugal’s Ricardo Quaresma, Argentina’s Deigo de Cunha and Spain’s Fernando Torres.
Said Karen Goffe, marketing director, PepsiCo UK: "This year promises to be an exciting year for Pepsi with the continuation of our partnership with David Beckham along with a line-up of the world’s finest players. We have always strived to deliver the very best to football fans around the world and this year is no different."
