Digby replaces Rob Baldock who completed two terms in the post.
Stated Digby: "I'm very excited to have been elected as the new chairman of the MIA. Having already spent 25 enjoyable years in the industry I have made a lot of friends around the world. I'm pleased I can now make a contribution to the industry that is my work and my hobby, especially when there are so many challenges ahead."
Alistair Fergusson, managing director of Alcon Components, now becomes vice-chairman of the MIA in place of Rob Baldock.
Graham Fuller, managing director of Minister Racing Engines, has also been elected to the MIA committee.
The UK's Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) has elected Peter Digby, managing director of Xtrac, as its new chairman.
