The NFL Network has signed a carriage distribution deal with US cable operator Charter Communications.

The 5-year deal is set to begin next month and will extend the network's subscriptions by 6.5 million.
The agreement is also expected to provide Charter with a high-definition feed, video-on-demand and archived footage of the network as well.
The NFL Network is currently only available on DirecTV in 11.5 million homes.
The NFL Network, which doesn't show regular-season games, will provide Charter with out-of-market preseason games next summer.
