Eurosport sells strength

Pan-European sports channel Eurosport has appointed a new UK sales director.

David Orman takes over the post in the London office, with special responsibility for Scandinavia and the US.

Meanwhile, Michael Lams, business development director, will head up an expanded business unit looking to develop more strategic partnerships with a range of international clients.

Said Orman: “Myself and the whole of the UK sales team are eagerly awaiting the year ahead as we believe 2004 will be a great year for Eurosport. Not only do we have the Olympics and Euro 2004, but also a huge range of annual events such as the Australian Open, the Tour de France, LG Super Racing Weekends and the Champions League. We will also be reinforcing the sales team through further recruitment.”

In addition, Eurosport in London has strengthened its distribution arm. Ben Phillis has joined from Sky to manage distribution in the UK and Ireland, he will report directly to Jean-Thierry Augustine.
