MotoGP web traffic doubles

MotoGP’s website has more than doubled its viewing figures during the 2003 season.

The site – motograndprix.com – received more than 34m visits over the course of the 2003 calendar year, up 17m on 2002. The figures represent in excess of 10m unique visitors.
Peak traffic was recorded during the opening round of the season at Suzuka in April, when over 2.5m visits to the site were made during two weeks. Other major peaks were noted during the African round at Welkom, with over a million visits in the week leading up to the race, and during the weeks of the Catalunya Grand Prix and Dutch TT in June, which both attracted over 800,000 visits.
Available in English, Italian, Spanish, French and Japanese versions, the site has more than 127,000 registered subscribers from all over the world. This total is set to rise still further in 2004, thanks to the launch of a new-look website which will also include Dutch and Portuguese versions. There is also a project for an Arabic site to be prepared.
