Paris Olympic bid officials may have fallen foul of IOC regulations over comments made about rival bidding city London.
IOC regulations forbid cities from running down opponents, and will be probing comments allegedly made by Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe.
Delanoe is believed to have said Paris officials have a better relationship with central government than their London counterparts.
Paris and London are seen as two of the favourites to win the race to stage the event.
