Eagles get profit boost

Australian rules football club the West Coast Eagles has announced a profit of nearly A$3million in its latest financial figures.

The club revealed a consolidated profit of A$2,868,178 - a figure which significantly exceeded budget.
The royalty payment to the West Australian Football Commission totals A$2,014,293 and results in a total payment for the year in rent and royalty to the WAFC of A$4,828,439.
These funds are largely used for the development of football in Western Australia and other specific football related projects. Since inception the WCE has contributed in excess of
A$58 million for these purposes.
The chairman of the West Coast Eagles Board Dalton Gooding stated: "We believe that this financial result is the best in the AFL competition this year.
"The club is particularly pleased that it was able to significantly grow its revenue whilst maintaining costs below budget. Central to this financial performance was the outstanding growth in membership, corporate support and merchandise sales.
"The club would therefore like to thank all its extremely loyal supporters for their outstanding commitment to the club. The contribution to West Australian football would not be possible without this support."
