Fenerbahce goes for listing

Tagged in , &

Turkish soccer club Fenerbahce is preparing for a sale that would see it listed on the Istanbul stock exchange.

Fenerbahce announced plans for a public offer of 15 percent of the shares in a wholly-owned subsidiary, saying a Turkish recovery made the time ripe for a sale.
The share offer, pencilled in for the second half of January, will make Fenerbahce the last of Turkey's big three clubs to list on the Istanbul stock exchange.
The shares will be sold in Fenerbahce Sportif A.S., to which the club will hand over control of its merchandising, as well as TV, advertising, gate and European competition revenues.
Player contracts will continue to be held by the club, not the listed company.
