The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Devil Rays will open the Major League Baseball season in Tokyo, it has been confirmed.
The deal, finally agreed by the commissioner’s office and players’ association, will see the games staged on March 30 and 31.
They will play double-headers against the Yomiuri Giants and the Hanshin Tigers.
The games will represent only the second time regular-season major league games have been played in Japan. The first was in 2000.
