Infront strikes 2006 deal in Indonesia

FIFA's rights selling agency Infront Sports & Media has sold the Indonesian broadcast rights to the 2006 World Cup to free-to-air network PT Surya Citra Televisi (STCV).

The exclusive rights deal, which also includes the coverage of the tournaments on FIFA's Additional Events list (2003-2006), represents a new relationship between soccer's governing body and the Indonesian national broadcaster.
Commented Rez Pribadi of SCTV: "We are delighted with the agreement with Infront which secures the 2006 FIFA World Cup for our network. Interest in football has been at an all time high in Asia following the successful 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan and we look forward to 2006 with keen anticipation."
The STCV deal in Indonesia is the latest in a string of rights announcements for the 2006 World Cup made by Infront including recently signed contracts with NOS in Holland and Hong Kong Cable in Hong Kong.
