WPBSA to appeal court ruling

Tagged in , &

The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association will appeal against the High Court action that could threaten its future.

At the end of last week, a judge ruled that WPBSA must pay World Snooker Enterprises £442,602 after ending its 10-year management contract after 10 months.
Even though the judge had denied permission to appeal, the WPSBA said it would be doing so on legal advice.
The governing body is struggling for cash and the court ruling could see it forced out of business. Among a number of cost-cutting decisions made by the WPSBA in recent times has been the reduction of the professional circuit from 128 players to 96 next season.
