The 2004 race, sponsored by Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline and with a purse of $6m, will be the highlight of the inaugural Dubai International Racing Carnival, a nine-week event of racing and social events in the Gulf state.
Said Ali Saeed Bilhab, chairman of the Dubai World Cup committee: “It seems fitting that the world’s richest race is being supported by the world’s leading aerospace company and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
