Cricket tour under threat

A planned tour by the England national cricket team to Zimbabwe could be called off due to the latest political row.

Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe pulled his country out of the Commonwealth at the weekend, worsening relations between it and the UK.
With mounting pressure already on cricket authorities to scrap the tour due to Zimbabwe’s human rights record, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has said he may order it to be scrapped.
The ECB has already stated it will review its decision to tour in the new year. The England team pulled out of a planned match in Zimbabwe during this year’s Cricket World Cup, citing player safety.
