The event draws together sports organisations including clubs, teams, governing bodies, and sports federations for a day of learning and discussion regarding the best practice of HR in sport, and the opportunities available to organisations in developing more professional selection, retention and training programmes for the key personnel that drive sports-related businesses.
The event, which is endorsed by Sport England, showcases the need for the development of people to drive the ever increasing commercial world of sport forward, allowing clubs, teams and associations to successfully operate in a competitive and challenging marketplace.
Peter Gandolfi, head of sports marketing at Nationwide Building Society commented: "People drive businesses, and sport has to make an investment in the people that run it, if it is to achieve the revenues and success that are needed for the funding and development of grass roots initiatives, elite athlete financing, and of course delivery on commercial partnerships.
"I see 'People Power' as an important event that delivers information to clubs and teams that can help to develop long term strategies for success with regard to the growth and understanding of HR practice in sport."
