C4 jumps on board

UK terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4 has signed a deal to broadcast the upcoming FIS Snowboard World Cup.

The deal adds to the broadcaster’s portfolio of winter sports which includes the FIS Audi Alpine Ski World Cup and the FIS Nordic World Cup.

Specialist UK production company Hothouse Productions will be producing six and a half hours of winter sports coverage per week for Channel 4.

Says former British ski champion Nick Fellows, who set up Hothouse in 1998: "We feel that the timing is perfect to appeal to the UK public. Not only is the participation in skiing and snowboarding at an all-time high, we also have a very professional and promising British team, with a number of potential race winners to follow this year."
