United set for US again

English Premier League soccer champions Manchester United will look to build on its US image next year after confirming another pre-season tour – and look likely to be joined by Spanish giants Real Madrid.

It has teamed up again with event management company ChampionsWorld to stage a three-game tour in 2004. The New York firm also handled its 2003 jaunt.
The games will be staged in Chicago (Soldier Field), New York (Giants Stadium) and an as yet unconfirmed venue. The tour is expected to take place in late July and early August.
The other three teams taking part are likely to be confirmed later this year – although it is believed Real Madrid, the team former hero David Beckham now plays for, will be among them.
