If London wins the competition to host the 2012 Olympic Games, an Olympic Village big enough to host 16,000 athletes will be built, together with an 80,000-seat Olympic stadium, a broadcast and media centre and a range of other facilities. The facilities will have substantial legacy benefits for the Lower Lea Valley, which is one of the most deprived areas in the UK.
